Hello everybody
This semester is over and I want to talk about my achievements during this period. first of all, I improved my English skills in terms of academic writing and speaking, even though I recognize that English is a lenguage which is learned everyday and all the time there are several new things for learning. Also, I built on good relationships with the classmates with who I spent a lot of time and learned differents things about each one. Finally, it was a challenge to attend academic classes like these because it was my first time in a classroom listening everything in English and testing the four English skill; listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
I have many goals for my future, but in specific terms I want to improve my English in the academic and social field, I want to become a professional in the United States in the philosophy field and maybe to be a teacher.
Thank you everyone

THANKSGIVING
1. In the first story ( ESL Thanksgiving Traditions) we can read an information much more detailed in which there are many important historical aspects about the pilgrims and the relationship with the tradition of thanksgiving. The second story, called Squanto Helped the Pilgrims, poses a reduced information about a specific figure ( Squanto) and his role in the history of thanksgiving.
The first one talks about Samoset who was an Abnaki Indian, and after it refers to Squanto. in the second story everything is about Squanto and his work with the pilgrims.
According to the second lecture, Squanto had learned English in Europe, but the first one specifies better that he learned it in England.
2. I think they are not different but one is more detailed than another. I mean, for example, the first one ( ESL) has more information about the historical event and the second ( Squanto) takes just one part of the event because it wants to focus just in the Squanto's role in relationship with the pilgrims.
3. Yes, we have several stories that we read, but really they are not true or more of their details never happened in the history. For example, we have the story about LA BATALLA DE BOYACA ( the Boyaca's battle) in Colombia. when you read it you can imagine a big and cruel battle, but according to historical events it wasn't too astonishing.

POLYCRONIC AND MONOCHRONIC
I consider myself as a polychron person for several reasons. First of all, because of the Latin culture in which I was born. Time is not the most important factor in terms of relationships, interaction with society, or development of activities. Second one, I like to do several things at the same time in order to advance much faster with my intellectual, social, and personal growing.
Also, punctuality is not relevant in my life, I prefer to attend the content of a meeting or class without take care the time.
As a polychron person, I have many distractions at the moment in which I am doing something, distractions like music, internet, social events, etc.
Finally, I would like to say that priority of things is very important to me, I mean, when I have a plan (in terms of having fun or relationships) but suddenly appear something much more important or relevant in my job or study, I change the plans and I focus in the priority.
I could say that sometimes I am monochron, like many people would say the same thing, but in the mostly part of my life the time does not enough relevance.

Obama's perspective about 9/11
President Barack Obama remember thinks that time was not only an attack on America but an attack against the world and humanity and the hopes we share and he remembers with gratitude how everybody around the world ten years ago was together. whole cities were paralyzed in moments of silence. People offered prayers in churches, synagogues and other places of faith.
It's very interesting when president Barack Obama talks about division and unity saying: " who attacked us on September 11 wanted to create divisions between the U.S. and the world. Failed. In this 10. Anniversary, we join our partners and friends to remember those we lost in this struggle. In honor of his memory, we reiterate the spirit of partnership and mutual respect we need to realize a world in which all persons live with dignity, freedom and peace."
After 10 years, the The United States has the support from many countries and 9/11 wasn't an
attack to divide because american people worked for a new hope.

SEPTEMBER 11 OF 2001
9/11 became a historical tragedy to American people but, also it had an impact around the world because
terrorism is a strong phenomenon in our human civilization and the war has become in a determinant factor of each culture and each country. 9/11 was a horrible event which marked a new period in the history of The United States, an age of unsafety and permanent war. But, the destruction of the twin towels wasn't the end of American culture; New York City lost many lives but, americans had the hope to continue working for the Nation and growing of the new generations.
When I remember these events I got in my mind several questions in order to try to understand and clarify what are the human limits and why the difference among us has become in something negative. I don't know what was the main factor in this attack, perhaps religion, economy, politic, I don't know but, it is a picture which shows us that human being must begin to build the civilization.
